1976 Ford GRAN TORINO Rental Added in Ohio

Cop Car Auction has added a 1976 Ford GRAN TORINO to its roster through the USA Movie Cars network. The vehicle sits in Ashtabula, Ohio, and carries the period-correct equipment and appearance of a Starsky and Hutch detective car from season two. Ohio productions now have access to a red two-door coupe that can serve as a character vehicle or background element without requiring additional modifications for authenticity.

Spotlight on this 1976 Ford GRAN TORINO

The listing shows a red exterior with a large white vector stripe and a black interior. Equipment includes a Motorola radio mounted on the transmission hump, a Federal PA-20 siren on the passenger side, and a Federal Fireball magnetic roof light. These pieces are arranged as a detective car would appear on screen, giving the Gran Torino an immediate law-enforcement presence while remaining a civilian model.

Additional details note a 408 cubic inch Cleveland V8, C6 automatic transmission with trac-lok rear end, power steering and brakes, air conditioning, and heated front seats. The car also carries HI-JACKER air shocks and an aftermarket alarm system with power locks that can still be operated with keys. The owner notes that the vehicle is currently finishing restoration work and that updated photos will appear once the remaining details are complete.

Cop Car Auction and the Ohio Picture Car Market

Cop Car Auction focuses on law-enforcement and detective vehicles for film and television work. Adding this 1976 Ford GRAN TORINO expands the options available to crews working in Ohio. Ashtabula, Ohio, sits within reach of larger production centers, so local access to a screen-accurate detective car reduces travel time and transport costs for regional shoots.

USA Movie Cars works with state picture-car sites such as Ohio Picture Cars to help productions find local picture vehicles. This network approach lets location managers and picture car coordinators search by state first, then connect with the actual vehicle owner through a single point of contact. The result is faster matching between available cars in Ohio and the specific needs of a given production.

History of the 1976 Ford GRAN TORINO

The 1976 Gran Torino belongs to Ford’s Torino line that ran through the 1970s. The two-door coupe body style was popular for both personal use and as a platform for custom or performance builds. Its long hood and short rear deck gave the model a distinctive silhouette that later became associated with certain television programs of the era.

The listing references screen accuracy to season two of Starsky and Hutch. That show used a red 1976 Gran Torino with a white stripe as the signature vehicle for the detectives. Period-correct police equipment mounted in the specific layout shown here helps the car read correctly for scenes set in the mid-1970s without requiring further fabrication by the production.

Ohio Picture Car Rental Uses

Producers can use this Gran Torino for any scene that needs a 1970s detective or undercover police car. The combination of the red paint, white stripe, and roof light makes it stand out in establishing shots or street-level footage. Background texture for period dramas, music videos, or commercials set in the same decade is another straightforward application.

Still photographers and branded content creators can also place the car in frame to add era detail. The vehicle’s size and stance work well for hero shots or as a prop that characters interact with directly. Because it carries working period equipment, crews filming in Ohio can avoid time spent sourcing and installing separate radios or lights on set.
